Archaeological Sites

This page provides summary information regarding the more significant archaeological sites in the Falls area. Some of these sites have long been destroyed; many have been investigated professionally or by avocational archaeologists to some degree and may still contain some intact cultural deposits. These sites have varying levels of protection. Therefore, precise locational data is not provided on this page since the FOAS does not want to encourage unauthorized digging or looting at these sites. Where available, references to these sites in the literature are provided.
