What to do If...?

  • You find artifacts on your land?
  • You want to have artifacts identified?
  • You want to donate a collection?
  • Your class or group needs a speaker?
  • Your scout or school group needs help with a badge or project?
  • You want to become an archaeologist?

Artifact Identification

If you have artifacts that you would like identified in relation to their function, age, or culture, you have several options.

  • You may bring the artifacts to any regular monthly meeting of FOAS. Before and after each meeting, professional archaeologists and avocationalists are available to examine your materials and provide you with reference materials for more information.
  • You may contact Anne at chezmoi@insightbb.com to set up an appointment to view your artifacts.
  • You may take a digital photograph, or scan a hard copy picture, and email it to us at chezmoi@insightbb.com. We will attempt to answer your questions on-line. The more information you provide, the easier our job will be.
PLEASE DO NOT ASK US TO ASSIGN A PRICE OR MONETARY VALUE TO YOUR ARTIFACTS!! We will not do this, since our society does not endorse the buying, selling, or trading of artifacts for personal gain. Please see the link on this website entitled What to do if you want to donate a collection for more information on this policy.
